Wk05: Learning Journal Markov

 Work with your fellow classmates and go through your solutions to the Markov assignment.

    1. For this week I met with Stan, we worked together on reviewing each other's code, discussing about our approaches and takeaways.

      1. Just Stan and me for this week.

  1. What was your strategy for solving the Markov assignment?
    1. Did you start writing code right away? Did you plan it out on paper? 
      1. I tried to create some sort of mental plan, something abstract after reading instructions. I just followed instructions and started writing code as it was instructed. I based myself on readme, then I compiled my code making sure I get no errors.

  1. What was THEIR strategy for solving the Markov assignment
    1. Same as mine. Stan based most of his work out of the readme, and the instructions. he did not form any mental plan because he did not see any need for it. He just coded as instructions dictated.

  1. How would you change your strategy having worked on the assignment?
    1. Start earlier and maybe add more comments to my overall code. other than that, I am happy with my result. We both scored 20/20 so full credit for both. My code was shorter than Stan, mine was more compact. Overall same functionality but Stan was easier to understand. 

  1. According to your classmate(s): how well does your code follow the Google Java Style GuideLinks to an external site.?
    1. Did you know you can automate applying some of the style guide rulesLinks to an external site.?
      1. Stan said I did good and I adhered to the rules.  He said I followed the Google Java Style Guide. As I reviewed Stans code he also adhered to rules and overall did a great job. We are satisfied with our work.

Part 1: Review and Reflect Learning Strategy My top 3 study skills, in which I believe I am good at, are thinking skills, getting the main idea, and extracting important details. Why do I say this?  Well, I think you develop thinking skills from experience. The article says that everyone has thinking skills, but not everyone uses them correctly.   Part One: Set Your Educational Goals Regarding my educational goals at CSUMB, I aim to earn my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a strong GPA. As I mentioned previously, I aspire to specialize in Cybersecurity and, hopefully, attend a reputable university that offers a respected Master’s degree program, such as the University of California, Berkeley.
